The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit a Research Associate III - Digital Agriculture and Innovation to support co-ordination and communication across multi-disciplinary teams especially between software development teams and the end users. Additionally, the incumbent is also expected to support in research data collection, analysis and report writing tasks as well as drive capacity development activities with little guidance or minimal supervision. 

ILRI works to improve food and nutritional security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one of 15 CGIAR research centres dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world. Co-hosted by Kenya and Ethiopia, it has regional or country offices and projects in East, South and Southeast Asia as well as Central, East, Southern and West Africa. www.ilri.org

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of digital agriculture projects in India
  • Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Gather and prepare software requirements specification (SRS), follow up on tasks and update project plans.
  • Collect research data, analyse and write reports
  • Maintain a repository of documentation
  • Work with other departments to report projects' design and progress
  • Assist in developing learning and knowledge sharing tools
  • Coordinate capacity building activities including training the internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform any other related duties as may be required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in agricultural economics, rural development, sociology, IT systems or relevant field
  • Solid training in qualitative and understanding of quantitative approaches.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience is necessary in digital agriculture.
  • Experience with cross-sectoral partnerships especially across technology teams and government partners.
  • Relevant experience in digital agriculture projects in Asia
  • Willingness and aptitude to quickly learn and use new and emerging technologies.
  • Strong in essential computer software/packages like MS Word, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint
  • Working experience in and understanding of CGIAR organizations will be an added advantage
  • Excellent proficiency of spoken and written English with strong writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skill and ability to work with diverse teams and in a multi-cultural environment.

Post location: The position will be based Hyderabad, India

Terms of Appointment

This position is at job level HG 12 and it is only open to Indian nationals. The position is a 3-year contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding. ILRI offers a competitive salary and benefits package which includes pension, medical and other insurances.
